‘American Idol’ Loses TV Ratings Crown to Football

its been a couple weeks since our last rant… so we figured this would be a good topic to start back up again… Idol… American Idol… this show jumped the shark years ago, grasping at atraws to remain relevant. Regardless of the wanna-bes that show up to the tryouts, the show is lame. It has been lame for some time and all of the viewing public hopes that this horrible season closes out the legacy. As an open letter to the producers, please walk away and end it. We no longer want to watch the train-wreck its become. If it does come back, please show us ALL the horrible auditions that you’ve edited out. We dont care about the good auditions… we wand to see that bad ones!

Is “American Idol” no longer the cultural titan it once was? The numbers are in for last night’s season finale. Not even the notoriously kind Judge J.Lo would have been impressed.

For the first time in a long time, “Idol” won’t finish as the top-rated program in primetime. According to preliminary numbers, NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” will go down as this season’s top-ranked program. The NFL game of the week averaged around 20.7 million viewers, while “Idol’s” Wednesday edition averaged 19.7 million viewers this season. With big NFL ratings come big numbers for the league. Last December, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “the NFL pre-emptively renewed TV rights deals with CBS, Fox, and NBC for nine years (through 2022) at an average increase of 7 percent per network that will take revenue for the NFL from $1.93 billion annually to $3.1 billion by 2022.”

Zimmerman family member calls NAACP ‘racists’

If there is a bandwagon to jump on, the NAACP will be there. Same thing with Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson. Guilty until proven innocent is their ‘unspoken’ mantra. It appears that the NAACP is the “legal” version of reverse racism… Is there a NAAHP? (Hispanic)? Perhaps the Zimmerman family should seek one out. With only a portion of the facts available, I think its horrible that so many people, celebrities included, have jumped on the ‘Trayvon’ train for shameless publicity. Speaking of celebrities, what have Rosanne Barr and Spike Lee done in the last 20 years? These are two of the most irrelevant celbs someone could find…

In a letter obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller on Monday, a family member of George Zimmerman ripped Seminole County, Fla. NAACP president Turner Clayton for a rush to judgment in the Trayvon Martin case.

“It’s time for you to end the race issue in this matter and call for cooler heads to prevail,” the letter reads. “If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization of George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgment. You need to call off the dogs. Period. Publicly and swiftly.”

George, the letter adds, “has been called a racist and a bigot and there have been very few that have stood up for him.” The letter was addressed to Clayton at the NAACP’s national headquarters in Baltimore.

The family member, whose identity TheDC has confirmed but is withholding out of concern for the Zimmerman family’s safety, said George Zimmerman “has been found guilty” in the court of public opinion “until proven innocent,” adding that the details of what happened on Feb. 26 — the night Zimmerman shot Martin in what he claims was self-defense — “will not be disclosed until the police report is made public.”

Chevy Chase to ‘Community’ creator: ‘F*ck you’

I applaud Chevy for standing up for his family! His wife and kids were there and for Dan Harmon to be so self absorbed to not finish the scene because the “writing was bad”? Please… you’re not doing Shakespeare! You’re doing a second, o0r third, rate sitcom! Get a life Dan and well done Chevy! You need to go on Howard Stern again for talk about this!

It looks like there is trouble brewing in the Greendale Community College “Community.”

A heated voicemail left by actor Chevy Chase for “Community” creator Dan Harmon leaked online over the weekend, revealing a troubling rift between the veteran comedian and the series showrunner, Deadline reports.

During the third season wrap party, Harmon reportedly made a speech where he gave Chase a big “fuck you” after the actor reportedly refused to film a final scene because he didn’t like the writing.

Chase’s wife and daughter were present at the party, so the actor stormed out — and that is when things got even more tense.

Chase then called and left Harmon a volatile voicemail, in which he calls Harmon a “fat fuck” and says that the writing on the show is an “abomination.”
