Chevy Chase to ‘Community’ creator: ‘F*ck you’

chevy chase

I applaud Chevy for standing up for his family! His wife and kids were there and for Dan Harmon to be so self absorbed to not finish the scene because the “writing was bad”? Please… you’re not doing Shakespeare! You’re doing a second, o0r third, rate sitcom! Get a life Dan and well done Chevy! You need to go on Howard Stern again for talk about this!

It looks like there is trouble brewing in the Greendale Community College “Community.”

A heated voicemail left by actor Chevy Chase for “Community” creator Dan Harmon leaked online over the weekend, revealing a troubling rift between the veteran comedian and the series showrunner, Deadline reports.

During the third season wrap party, Harmon reportedly made a speech where he gave Chase a big “fuck you” after the actor reportedly refused to film a final scene because he didn’t like the writing.

Chase’s wife and daughter were present at the party, so the actor stormed out — and that is when things got even more tense.

Chase then called and left Harmon a volatile voicemail, in which he calls Harmon a “fat fuck” and says that the writing on the show is an “abomination.”

Why I Am Leaving Goldman Sachs

Goldman_Sachs

Greg, Thank you for your honesty. It is refreshing to see someone stand up for their morals stance and move forward in their career instead of falling inline with all the corruption that clearly exists in the banking industry.

TODAY is my last day at Goldman Sachs. After almost 12 years at the firm — first as a summer intern while at Stanford, then in New York for 10 years, and now in London — I believe I have worked here long enough to understand the trajectory of its culture, its people and its identity. And I can honestly say that the environment now is as toxic and destructive as I have ever seen it.

To put the problem in the simplest terms, the interests of the client continue to be sidelined in the way the firm operates and thinks about making money. Goldman Sachs is one of the world’s largest and most important investment banks and it is too integral to global finance to continue to act this way. The firm has veered so far from the place I joined right out of college that I can no longer in good conscience say that I identify with what it stands for.

It might sound surprising to a skeptical public, but culture was always a vital part of Goldman Sachs’s success. It revolved around teamwork, integrity, a spirit of humility, and always doing right by our clients. The culture was the secret sauce that made this place great and allowed us to earn our clients’ trust for 143 years. It wasn’t just about making money; this alone will not sustain a firm for so long. It had something to do with pride and belief in the organization. I am sad to say that I look around today and see virtually no trace of the culture that made me love working for this firm for many years. I no longer have the pride, or the belief.

Court overturns Prop. 8 in California, says state can’t ban gay marriage

Prop 8 ban

What great news! Now please, can’t we all just get along and stop trying to impose one’s religious beliefs on another. Be happy that two people in love can finally get married!

The 9th Circuit Court in California struck down the state’s voter-passed ban on gay marriage, ruling 2-1 that it violates the rights of gay Californians.

“Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples,” Judge Reinhardt wrote in the decision.

The Circuit Court backed up District Judge Judge Vaughn Walker, who ruled in August of 2010 that the state of California has no “rational basis” to single out gay men and women as ineligible for marriage. The group fighting for Proposition 8, which passed in 2008 after thousands of gay couples had already married, appealed Walker’s decision arguing that it should be vacated because Walker is gay and has a long-time same-sex partner.

Walker’s 2010 decision was called a “grand slam” by gay rights advocates, who hope it will convince the Supreme Court to decide that states cannot outlaw gay marriage. But Reinhardt was explicit in his decision that the court’s decision is “narrow” and only relates to California, not to the entire nation. The pro-Prop. 8 camp has said it will appeal the decision. The group can now ask that all 11 members of the 9th Circuit hear their case, instead of just the panel of three who decided against them on Tuesday.

Kelly Clarkson nails National Anthem (Video)

First, we’d like to congratulate the New York Giant on willing the Superbowl! Way to, once again, shut down the New England Patriots! As for Clarkson… she did a great job! No Minute 14 for Clarkson!

She nailed it.

Kelly Clarkson tackled the National Anthem prior to Sunday’s Super Bowl and wrapped her big Texas-sized vocals around the song. There were no slip-ups and there wasn’t much vocal showboating, just a straightforward, powerful version of the Anthem.

The first season “American Idol” winner, whose “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” is currently No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, appeared in a black mini-dress, rocking a new set of bangs on her forehead while backed by a children’s choir and a drumline. Clutching a bejeweled microphone, Clarkson stuck to the script, choosing not to go for over-the-top glory notes but hitting her marks with gusto.

Mark Zuckerberg’s IPO Letter: Why Facebook Exists

Facebook

Like or dislike Zuckerberg, you need to admire the change he has brought to the world… all from a little room at Harvard and built on determination to what he believes in. Thank you Mark and look forward to the IPO

Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg tucked a letter into the company’s filing for an initial public offering in which he explains the reason he created in 2004 what is now the world’s largest social networking site. The letter provides rare insight into Zuckerberg, who remains somewhat of an enigma despite the ubiquity of Facebook.

Here is the letter in full:

LETTER FROM MARK ZUCKERBERG

Facebook was not originally created to be a company. It was built to accomplish a social mission — to make the world more open and connected. We think it’s important that everyone who invests in Facebook understands what this mission means to us, how we make decisions and why we do the things we do. I will try to outline our approach in this letter.

At Facebook, we’re inspired by technologies that have revolutionized how people spread and consume information. We often talk about inventions like the printing press and the television — by simply making communication more efficient, they led to a complete transformation of many important parts of society. They gave more people a voice. They encouraged progress. They changed the way society was organized. They brought us closer together.

Today, our society has reached another tipping point. We live at a moment when the majority of people in the world have access to the internet or mobile phones — the raw tools necessary to start sharing what they’re thinking, feeling and doing with whomever they want. Facebook aspires to build the services that give people the power to share and help them once again transform many of our core institutions and industries.

Will Bill S.978 Put Bieber Behind Bars?

Bieber in Jail

Ha! We could only wish! if this bill passes, I think there should be a campaign to make sure the law is enforced. :)

Justin faces 5 brutal years in prison. Could this really happen?

So says freebieber.org, a website that went live today offering a petition to sign to stop bill S.978 from passing. And while the pictures of the pop star behind bars are obviously Photoshopped, the “racing” bill is making its way through Congress to make any unauthorized streaming of copyrighted material online a felony, according to the Hollywood Reporter. What kind of material are we talking about here? Anything from a person singing a song cover to a pirated episode of an HBO original series are all all at risk of being slapped with up to five years of jail time.

David Arquette Says Girlfriend Christina McLarty Is ‘Adorable’

david-arquette

Hmmm… she sure looks like Courtney Cox… except hotter! Well done David! (see more pics of her below)

One year after his split from Courteney Cox, David Arquette is dating again.

“She’s adorable,” the actor told Howard Stern Thursday of his new girlfriend, Christina McLarty.

McLarty, who was married to Girls Gone Wild‘s Joe Francis for less than two months in 2010, was first spotted with Arquette at Comic Con in San Diego in late July. The current Dancing with the Starscontestant told Stern he met McLarty at a “boat party” and that “we try to see each other as much as possible.”
